Next-gen games are the thing now that the PS5 announcement has gained traction. Following suit to games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, next-gen games are the hype these days. Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is no different. It has next-gen features and the game has the added bonus of a remastered version of the original game.
Pricing, Release Date, and Specs
A lot of people are excited for this game, especially the dedicated fan base. Preorders have already been exhausted in most countries. The last game was an icon and this one is facing harsh criticism as it has to live up to the original. Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is retailing in the US for $59.99. The price can be converted to other currencies but that would not be exact. Official prices for any place other than the USA have not been announced.
Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is planned to be released initially on Nov 12th, 2020. It may change depending on the current global situation but as of now, there is no word of that happening. Worldwide release dates have not been announced but it may be on the same day. Interestingly, the PS5 is also being launched on the same day.
A First Look at the Story of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales
The story in the game continues from when Miles was just getting to know his powers. At the original game, they showed hints that Miles Morales was urging Peter to teach him. Due to the events that transpired after that in the original game, there was no mission to engage with Miles. Suspicions have turned out to be true as fans have said Miles Morales was going to be in the next game.
The trailers of the game show Miles and his best friend, Ganke Lee, in East Harlem. Their objective is going to Rio Morales, the mother of Miles, who is having a political event. Strolling through this part of the game is ingenious as it gives players a real look at the culture of the neighborhood. It also gives you a taste of what the controls would be like, although limited in the beginning.
There are two bad guys in the game, one in the form of Tinkerer, a canonical villain in the comic book, and The Underground, the army under Tinkerer’s control. The other villain in the game comes in the form of a corporation called Roxxon. Action-packed sequences take place, players get a chance to use the new Spider-Man’s powers. You play as the protagonist Miles Morales and feel the entire gravity of the character. Players will see that just having powers is not easy, there is a huge sense of responsibility in the game.
Technical Details and Recommendations
Everything that has been witnessed from the launch trailers and other information, the game is expected to be a masterpiece. Similar to the impact Marvel’s Spider-Man has on fans, players, and new gamers alike, again in this game you become Miles Morales. Not just in the sense of the game but in a metaphorical sense. As you delve deep into the storyline, side missions, and other content within the game itself, you become entranced.
Players need to legitimately take mental preparation to play this game without losing countless hours of the day. Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales has buttery smooth framerates along with the haptic feedback from the controllers. The new controllers have been redesigned to make the most of the events that take place in the game. You can literally feel the exact vibrations of a bio-electric venom attack when you toggle it. The controller also has adaptive shoulder triggers and a microphone (finally) so that players can talk to friends without a headset.
Graphics in the game are breathtaking as Ray-tracing enabled reflections and textures look surreal. The game also has 3D sound and binaural audio to make it seem more lifelike. Playing this game in VR would make some players lose all sense of reality (go easy on the VR!). The enhanced and full blown experience can only be enjoyed on the PS5 unfortunately (we’re bummed out about it too). But the good thing is that the game is available for the PS4 as well, no one has to miss out.
A Short Note on the Mental Aspect of the Game
Since the game is going to be even more graphic intensive as possible, you should keep track of game time. Hours upon hours went away like it does not matter, speaking from personal experience, stay aware. It is fun to play games in VR but it is also easy to lose track of what you are doing. For games like these, it is not to be taken lightly when it is said, play responsibly. It is nice to be hooked onto a game but not worth becoming a mindless zombie. If you have experience with the original Marvel’s Spider-Man then you know what to do. If you are new to the next-gen game scene, take note. Of course, you are more than entitled to have fun with the game, do not get discouraged!
Final Verdict on Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales
With all the information out of the way, it is up to you to interpret it however you please. Make no mistake this game is a hit even before it is out on retail. Games like these are a must-have where you get a learning experience as well. We recommend the ultimate edition of the game because it includes the remastered version of the old game. This is big news for newcomers as they get an even more exuberant experience with the entire series of the game. Players will be able to keep up with everything, Marvel yet again maintaining its continuity aspect just like their movies.
